What kind of railings does Ben build?
Interior decorative railing systems, in metal or wood spindles, with the matching newel posts, caps and graspable handrail. Spindle profiles come in square, round and rectangle. Ben works on interior railings only, so no decks, fences or exterior stairs.
Do my railings have to meet the building code?
Yes. The code sets requirements for railing height, spindle spacing and a graspable handrail, and those rules exist because a railing is a safety component. Ben builds to current code and will tell you what your particular stairs and landings need.
How long does a railing replacement take in my home?
About 70% of the work happens in Ben's shop, so the disruptive part is short. He measures, removes your old railing and puts up a temporary one, builds and finishes the new railing offsite, then comes back and fits it in a day, maybe two depending on the size of the project.
How much do railings cost in Edmonton?

What finishes do the metal spindles come in?
Satin black, pewter and chrome, in square, round and rectangle profiles. There are also featured spindles with knuckle, collar, ball and twist detailing if you want something with more character. The spindle selection guide shows each one photographed.
Do you install wall-mounted handrails on their own?
Yes. A wall-mounted handrail is its own item, priced separately by the lineal foot, and it can go in with or without a spindle railing. Wood, metal round and metal square brackets are all available to match or contrast with the handrail.
Do you build railings outside Edmonton?
Yes. Ben serves Edmonton plus Leduc, Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and St. Albert. If you are a little further out, call and ask.
